The Science

miRcutis
uses its proprietary RNA-mediated Phenotype Modulation (RPM) discovery and validation platform to understand gene expression in skin through the action of specific miRNAs and their impact on phenotype.

The genotype of an individual is its unique genetic heritage, stored in the DNA in the nucleus of its cells. A person’s phenotype is equally individual – and consists of all of its perceptible properties.  The skin phenotype, therefore, is all sensory parameters (essentially visual and tactile) observable by oneself and others; in short, its appearance.

Silicone-3D-vdWmiRcutis utilizes informatic tools, in vitro laboratory validation, and in vivo testing as steps in the process to develop active ingredients related to skin aging, oxidative stress protection, and pigmentation irregularities.

RPM active ingredients alter the appearance and behavior of the skin at a molecular level without changing skin physiology. This innovation is possible because microRNAs exist naturally (endogenously) in the skin itself, and are major agents of gene expression.
